In creative arts, students discover a variety of art forms through a study of dance, drama, music and visual arts where they learn to appreciate, compose, listen, make and perform.
Each art form has its own unique knowledge and skills, elements or concepts as well as a capacity to inspire and enrich lives.
See below the current creative art programs on offer at Gillieston Public School.
Dance Group
Students at Gillieston Public School have the opportunity to be involved in a dance program each week. Students learn the importance of commitment to group activities and develop confidence through working in a team. They rehearse and perform for the school and wider community audiences, building confidence and resilience. Our students value and enjoy the opportunity to be involved in dance groups and are eager to perform.
Choir
Students at Gillieston Public School have the opportunity to be involved in our Choir program led by Ms Guilmartin. Our choir develops their skills through regular practise sessions. They sing at many school events, and also participate in larger events. Our school choir recently took pride in representing our school at StarStruck.
